Winter tires are designed specifically for use in winter conditions. Their tread pattern is designed to give you great traction in snow, slush, and ice, and the softer tread compound helps them stay pliable in sub-freezing temperatures. A flexible tire means a better contact patch or “footprint” to get you through the difficult conditions and get some real traction that can get you through packed snow or slush.
Unfortunately, that same softer rubber compound means that your winter tires will start to wear very quickly when the temperatures are above 40-45 degrees F. That’s why, in early spring, you should switch from winter tires back over to all-season tires again for the rest of the year!
At The Tire Terminal, we’re a proud part of the Goodyear family of dealers, with a full lineup of Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly tires for your vehicle. Through May 31, you can take advantage of Goodyear’s rebate program and receive a rebate of up to $100 or 250 Air Miles reward miles, with the purchase of a select set of Goodyear tires! That’s a rebate offer that is really worth following up on – you’ll end up with $100 back in your pocket again, or you can take advantage of it for your next air travel.
Along with tires from Goodyear, Dunlop, and Kelly, you can count on The Tire Terminal for tire service such as rotations and wheel balancing for the life of the tires. You can also come to us for wheel alignments, oil changes, brake service, A/C repair and a whole menu of other car care and auto repair/maintenance items. We want to be your go-to destination for tires and auto repair in Mississauga, ON!
Pretty soon the wildflowers are going to be blooming and the last traces of snow are going to be gone. Even if you don’t need a set of all-season tires just yet, make an appointment with us to have your winter tires changed out. Hope to see you soon!
